MIUI 11 is already in development and will be releasing soon in the summer. With the rumors of MIUI 11 hitting soon, there’s the question: Will there be MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 4 / Pro and Redmi 5 Plus?

Reasons MIUI 11 For Redmi Note 4 / Pro and Redmi 5 Plus

1) Redmi Note 4 /Pro and Redmi 5 Plus Were The Most Selling Smartphones in India

Redmi Note 4 was awarded as the no.1 smartphone in the Indian market with the tag ‘Desh ka phone’. Moreover, the Pro version and Redmi 5 Plus were also great hits in both the Chinese and Indian market. This allows these flagships to have possibly incredible users still using them after a couple of years.

2) MIUI’s Vow To Provide Update To Old Flagships

In comparison to other manufacturers, Xiaomi MIUI promises its users to offer system updates to old flagships. In the case of MIUI 9, it was Redmi 2. For MIUI 10 it was Mi 4c. And now for MIUI 11, it will be Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi 5 Plus, and so on.

So, it’s confirmed that there will be MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 5 Plus. We will be updating this page once MIUI 11 releases and provides updates to these flagships. Stay tuned!

Update 4/19/2019: Xiaomi plans to remove a few important smartphones from the list of MIUI 11 update. The list includes the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Y2, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3X, Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi Pro. It should be noted that previously these smartphones were on the list and were promised to get a Pie update, but according to post on the MIUI forums, the phones have been listed on “Change of Plan, Suspension of Recruitment” tag. This means that we will not be seeing the MIUI 11 update for these flagships. The most surprising aspect is that Redmi 6 was released a year back and Xiaomi adds it on the list of phones not getting MIUI 11. Sad news, indeed!
