Nokia 8 Camera Update: Pro Camera Mode Added in Firmware Update

HMD Global launched the Nokia 8 in 2017, the company’s first Android phone worthy of the flagship title. Although its launch was far from perfect, the company has been continuously improving it with software updates to solve its problems and shortcomings. These include the missing features which came later in the Nokia 8 Sirocco and the  Nokia 7 Plus. One of these missing functions was the Pro camera mode,  which has been very popular among Nokia phones since its inception in the Lumia series.  Nokia confirmed that it was already working on Nokia 8 camera update to bring the Pro camera mode on Nokia 8.

Today, it finally brings the Pro Camera Mode on Nokia 8 in a firmware update. The HMD Product Manager, Juho Sarvikas, explained through Twitter the reason why it took so long for the company it implement the function:

We had to review the whole image system … it took us longer than I anticipated, but now it looks good. We will update as soon as possible.

Finally,  the pro camera mode is available to Nokia 8 users with the latest firmware update introduced, having a version number 4.88B and which weighs just over 600MB.

Now it will be possible to obtain manual control of white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed, exposure coverage and more. The company ensures that the controls are intuitive and that the changes in the settings will be reflected in real time.

Going into details, the Nokia 8 has a dual 13MP + 13MP camera with Zeiss lenses, which undoubtedly is one of the greatest highlights of the phone. With the Pro camera mode added with Nokia 8 camera update, it further increases the camera performance, value, and user satisfaction.
