OnePlus 3 and 3T Android 9 Community Beta 2 is Here – Download!

A couple of weeks back, Oneplus provided the Android 9 update to its 3 years old flagships ‘OnePlus 3 and 3T’. However, the Android 9 Community Beta update had a ton of bugs and needed fixes. Today, OnePlus 3 and 3T Android 9 Community Beta 2 was released fixing the previous problems of the Android 9 Beta update.

As the name implies, this is the second release based on Android 9 Pie and brings with it some corrections. As for the stable version, OnePlus has not yet biased towards the release date (or period). Below are the changes introduced by the update.

How To Install Android 9 Update on OnePlus 3 and 3T

For those who come from the stable version 181206

Requirement: Bootloader blocked

Steps:
  1. Download the file from the following link
  2. Move the file to the root folder of the device’s internal memory.

The smartphone can be updated via the Local Update

  1. Open settings -> Update -> Click on the icon at the top right
  2. Select local update
  3. Click on the previously moved file and wait for the reboot

For those who come from the last Open Beta 180712

Important: All data will be deleted in the transition from the Open Beta. If you want to make a backup with OnePlus Switch make sure to move it before deleting the data.

Steps:
  1. Download the file from the following link
  2. Move the file to the root folder of the device’s internal memory.
  3. Restart the device in recovery. To do this, turn off the smartphone and then press and hold the UP volume key and the power key to access the Factory mode.
  4. Browse to the Recovery option using the volume keys and the power key to confirm.
  5. Choose the English option
  6. Select Install from Internal storage by choosing the previously saved file
  7. Select yes and wait until the installation is complete.
  8. reboot
