CPU Comparison

All three are octa-core processors with 64-bit memory architecture but work in different micro-architectures. The Snapdragon 665 works with Kryo 260 and the Snapdragon 670 has the Kryo 360 architecture. Finally, MediaTek does not handle Kryo micro-architectures but the Helio P70 is also based on ARM. Also, the Helio P70 is designed in the 12nm FinFet process. However, the Qualcomm processors have been built with a smaller manufacturing process technology, 11nm for the Snapdragon 665 and 10nm for the Snapdragon 670. Remember that as long as the number of Fin Fet Process is lower, better is the energy efficiency of a SOC.

Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 670 vs Helio P70 Comparison

The 8 cores of Helio P70 are divided into two parts according to the management of the tasks. So, there are 4 main Cortex ARM-73 cores at a maximum clock speed of 2.1GHz and 4 cores for power saving Cortex ARM-53 at 2.0GHz. As mentioned, the Snapdragon 665 has the CPU architecture Kryo 260 and basically uses 2 powerful cores based on Cortex-A73, with clock speeds up to 2.0GHz and 6 efficiency cores based on Cortex-A53 with speed clock up to 1.8GHz. Finally, the Snapdragon 670 has a customized Kryo 360 architecture where 2 Cortex-A75-based cores at a speed of 2.0GHz are combined with 6 Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores with a processing speed of 1.7GHz.

Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 670 vs Helio P70 Comparison

The microarchitectures A75 and A55 are better than the A73 and A53, so Snapdragon 670 is the winner that can easily overcome the Snapdragon 665 and the Helio P70. Although the Helio P70 reaches a slightly higher clock speed, it is not enough to surpass it. In addition, the manufacturing process is also better.

AnTuTu Benchmark Comparison

In AnTuTu, the Helio P70 has registered a total score of 156.906. This score is very much on par with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 that registers a total of 157,271 points in AnTuTu. The Snapdragon 665, on the other hand, scored lower than the Snapdragon 670 and even lower than the Snapdragon 660 in CPU performance, with only 57,939 points. However, the Snapdragon 665 has a higher GPU score, but it is still behind the Snapdragon 670. Finally, its overall score is only 125,092 points.

GPU Comparison

The MediaTek Helio P70 has the ARM Mali-G72 GPU MP3 that offers a maximum frequency of 900MHz. The Snapdragon 665 has the Adreno 610 GPU, however, the Snapdragon 670 has the Adreno 615 GPU, which is a later generation with more power.

Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 670 vs Helio P70 Comparison

Again, the Snapdragon 670 manages to lead in one category. The Adreno 615 is a GPU with better performance than the Adreno 610 GPU and the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. However, you will only notice the differences if you use them all three in parallel in real life. Otherwise, there will be an almost equal performance.

Other Specs Comparison

Cameras

Now is the time to compare the optics department of chipsets. We start with the Helio P70 that has support for a single camera up to 32MP (30 fps) or a dual camera configuration of up to 24MP + 16MP (90fps). Also, it is possible to record 4k videos at 30 fps.
