USB 3.2 Rumored 20 Gbps

USB 3.2 Rumored Configuration – 20 Gbps Data Transfer, Dual Channel

As USB 3.1 Gen 2 was released recently, USB-IF now focuses on USB 3.2. They have contacted the vendor to speed up its market popularity. The idea is good, looking at USB 3.1 Gen 2 current situation. Let’s take a look at what the upcoming module will be featuring:

From the official announcement, USB 3.2 will have twice the bandwidth of USB 3.1 Gen 2. Moreover, it will also require an integrated USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 mastering for backward compatibility. Even dome USB Type-C data lines will achieve the dual-channel support.

Currently, the USB-IF organization also stressed that USB 3.2 would achieve the highest transmission rate. To achieve the highest transfer rates, they need to support the latest USB controller and the existing USB Type-C cable can fully satisfy it. In short, the current standard of the cable support 10 Gbps (SuperSpeed +). But the upcoming USB version 3.2 will support 20 Gbps transfer rate on the host device and specifically 2.5GB / s of bandwidth.
