MediaTek Dimensity 9300 | More Power & Less Consumption

MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset has been officially released and will be soon coming in devices. The models expected to use the latest chipset are the Oppo Find X7, Redmi K70, and many more. It is based on TSMC’s new generation 4nm process, 8 cores, has a 15% boost in performance and 33% more energy efficiency as compared to last year, supports LPDDR5T memory, UFS 4.0 flash memory, and much more.

Processing Power of MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Chipset

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset is based on TSMC’s new generation 4nm process technology and has 22.7 billion transistors. It has 1 x 3.25Ghz Cortex X4 core, 3 x 2.86Ghz Cortex X4 cores and 4 x 2.0Ghz A720 cores. The processor has an 8MB L3 cache and a 10MB system cache. It helps the new chipset achieve 15% performance improvement while using the same energy consumption. As for the multi-cores, performance is increased up to 30%. However, the chipset decreased by 33% energy consumption while providing the same performance as the last generation. 

The chipset supports LPDDR5T 9600Mbps memory and UFS 4.0 flash memory.

GPU of the Dimensity 9300 Chipset

The Dimensity 9300 chipset has Immortalis G720 MC12 1300Mhz GPU. As compared to DImensity 9200, the GPU provides 46% better performance under the same energy consumption. It can provide reduced 40% energy consumption while keeping the performance the same. The GPU provides global ray tracing, geometry processing engine upgrade, and bandwidth optimization of up to 40%. It has 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing, 46% improvement in hardware ray tracing performance, and 2x pixel blending operation output capability.  

Artificial Intelligence

The Dimensity 9300 chipset has an AI processor named APU 790. It has 8 times the speed generative AI transformer operator acceleration and unique memory hardware compression technology. The NeuroPilo compression mixed precision INT4 quantization technology. It allows the chipset to have 2 times integer operations, and 2 times floating point operations and achieve a 45% reduction in power consumption.

Display & Image Processing 

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset has a MiraVision 990 display processor and intelligent power-saving technology. It allows the chipset to achieve a 10% lower power average consumption compared to 9200. 

The chipset uses an Imagiq 990 ISP image processor and AI semantic segmentation video engine. It has 16-layer image semantic segmentation and dual depth of field and spot engines. The full pixel focus overlay with 2x lossless zoom and OIS optical image stabilization core. Furthermore, the chipset supports 3 microphones with high dynamic recording noise reduction that can filter 99% of wind noise at 25k/h.

Connectivity Features

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset supports WiFi 7 and Xtra Range 2.0 transmission now sees a distance increase of 4.5mm. It supports three antennae Bluetooth, with a connection speed increased by 42% and latency of less than 35ms. The chipset has 5G+AI network interruption reduced by 20% and stands increased by 4 hours. It also has a low-power wireless connection and supports dual security chips allowing safe booting and safe computing.
