Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic Released | Rotating Dials and Much More

Samsung has officially released the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, both seeing incremental updates from the last generations. The devices have thinner and rotating bezels (Galaxy Watch 6 Classic), an updated interchangeable band mechanism, and improved Wear OS that prioritizes health over anything. It has a very sleek round design that makes it retro with futuristic design language. 

Release Highlights

• The Galaxy Watch 6 has an aluminum frame while the Classic version is stainless steel
• The Classic Version comes with a rotating bezel and the simpler Watch 6 has a haptic touch bezel.

Display & Appearance

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is based on aluminum material, 40mm version has a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports 432 x 432 pixels. It measures 38.8×40.4×9.0 mm and weighs around 28.7g. The other version is 44mm and has a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED that has a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. It measures 42.8×44.4×9.0 mm and weighs around 33.3g.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic comes with a stainless steel bezel and two variants. It has a 43mm size with a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 432 x 432, with measurements of 42.5×42.5×10.9 mm, and weighs 52g. The 47mm version has a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED that has 480 x 480 resolution. It has measurements of 46.5×46.5×10.9 mm and weighs around 59g. The color options for the device are

Performance & Storage

Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Classic have the same processors, storage, and RAM. It comes with Samsung Exynos W930 dual-core 1.4GHz, 2GB RAM, and 16GB inbuilt storage. The device has connectivity through LTE6, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 2.4+5GHz, NFC, and GPS. It is compatible with Android 10 and runs on WearOS 4. 

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 40mm has a 300mAh whereas the 44mm has a 425mAh battery. On the other hand, the classic 43mm has a 300mAh battery and the 47mm has a 425mAh battery. Both devices can last up to 30 to 40 hours of usage if the always-on feature is turned off. 

As for the charging capacities, they support fast charging based on WPC wireless charging.
