iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition Debuts | Best Mid-Range Phone

Another smartphone release of the year 2022, what a way to end such a great year. The all-new iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has been launched and it has a lot to offer for its price point. It comes with a Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 with UFS 3.1 flash memory for smooth performance. The 6.68-inch smartphone will come in 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM. Making it a performance beast for the user. 

Release Highlights:

• The iQOO Neo 7 has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
• It has three options for RAM; 8GB,12GB, or 16 GB.

Design & Appearance

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has both a glass version(black) as well as the leather version(blue and orange). The glass version is 8.55mm thick and weighs around 202g. On the other hand, the leather version is 8.89mm thick with 197g of weight.

The back of the phone has a square camera set up with two big lenses and a small lens. The brand name of iQOO is on the lower side. Whereas, the front has just the punch hole cutout for the front camera. And some of the thinnest bezels out there on the market. It will run  OriginOS 3 based on Android 13.

The device will be available in three different colors for the consumers to choose from

• Black (Glass Back)
• Blue (Leather Back)
• Orange (Leather Back)

Screen & Display

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has a beautiful 6.78-inch AMOLED display. It has a resolution of 2400x1080p and uses Samsung E5 luminescent material for optimal displaying results. Moreover, the refresh rate of 120Hz is smart and can go as low as 30Hz for better battery life. 

Furthermore, it has a base brightness of 500 nits that can go up to a partial excitation of 1500 nits. The two-finger touch has a sampling rate of 360Hz with a 2000 Hz instantaneous sampling rate. With the added support of DC-like dimming.

Hardware & Performance

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 leaving no room for improvement. The 3.2Ghz chipset comes with an overclocked version of UFS 3.1 making the performance smooth as butter. Users can choose between 256GB and 512 GB for storage.

As for the RAM, users can choose between 8GB, 12GB, and 16 GB. Lately, the use of 16GB RAM has been increasing in phones and users are loving it. The LPDDR5 memory has a speed of up to 6400Mbps. 

Due to all this performance boost, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition may overheat due to excess use. To prevent that it comes with a 4013mm² VC vapor chamber to cool things off on the go.

Camera

The front camera is placed in the punch-hole cutout. It is a single 16 MP (S5K3P9) sensor that will produce some good and interesting shots.

On the back, it has a triple camera configuration to cater to the consumer’s needs. The primary sensor is 50MP (Samsung S5KGN5) and has built-in OIS. The second camera is an 8MP super wide sensor (OmniVision OV08D10). And thirdly, the 2MP macro camera (OmniVision OV02B10).

Connectivity & Network

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has the latest and greatest 5G options. There is no space for external memory storage.

Furthermore, it has all the basic connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS. And the device has an infrared remote control.

Battery

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has a dual-cell battery with a 5000mAh capacity. It can support fast charging of up to 120Hz. This means it will only take 8 minutes for the phone to charge from 0% to 50%. And just 30 minutes to completely charge the phone from 0% to 100%.

Moreover, the company claims that even after 1000 battery cycles. The health of the battery won’t go less than 80%.

Price & Availability

Currently, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has been released all over China. Whereas, the global release is on the way. It has debuted in four variants as;

• 8GB + 256GB: 2799 Yuan ($400)
• 12 GB + 256GB: 2999 Yuan ($430)
• 16GB + 256GB: 3299 Yuan ($473)
• 16GB + 512GB: 3599 Yuan ($515)
