Finally, after a week of anticipation, ASUS finally released ASUS Zenfone 5Z (ZS621KL) in India. The new Zenfone 5Z is a younger brother of the previously released Zenfone 5 (ZE620KL). In comparison to its older brother, the latest Zenfone 5Z offers a high-end performance and hardware and targets the Rs 30,000 (under $450) smartphone category and above. The price makes the phone truly competitive as it’s cheaper than OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Mi 8, and other Snapdragon 845 contenders.
ASUS Zenfone 5Z is the Cheapest SD 845 Smartphone in India!
Let’s move into the details, to know ASUS latest AI beast better:
ASUS Zenfone 5Z – When Price Never Defines a Phone
It almost seems unbelievable that a premium international smartphone brand can actually offer a high-end smartphone at a ridiculous price. We can expect such cheap price tags from Chinese phone makers such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and even Lenovo, but not from ASUS. However, the Taiwanese company followed its slogan “In Search of Incredible” this time and handed us the world’s cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone starting for just Rs 29,999 (437 USD). After the release of ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone 5Z, we now know that ASUS is targetting the price of smartphones in each category of the Indian market, to provide competition.
Like our title, the price never defines a phone. One might expect some features to cut down under that price but that’s not the case with ASUS Zenfone 5Z. The heart of the flagship is Snapdragon 845 accompanied by a generous 6/8GB optional RAM and 64/128/256GB optional ROM to select from. Furthermore, it integrates a 5.2-inch SuperIPS Full-HD screen following the 18:9 phones trend and runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
AnTuTu Benchmark Score: 274,499 points
The phone follows the top-notch design on the top similar to Zenfone 5 and the signature Zenfone back.
On the rear, we have the dual 12 MP + 8 MP (Sony IMX363) with a pixel area of 1.4μm, supporting Dual PD dual-core focus, four-axis OIS optical anti-shake, the fastest focus speed of 0.03 Seconds. The aperture is F/1.8, and RAW output is supported. Meanwhile, the front 8-megapixel camera has an aperture of F/2.0 (OmniVision OV88569).
In terms of other features, we have the dual 5-magnet stereo speakers powered by dual NXP amplifiers, Face Unlock, Rear Fingerprint Sensor, and NFC integration. The device has four 0.06mm-slim carbon cooling pads that efficiently dissipate heat and maintain top performance at all times, says ASUS.
The new ASUS Zenfone 5Z maximizes the AI involvement in the Zenfone series, making it the best AI Zenfone to date.
Last but not least, ASUS Zenfone 5Z is powered by a 3300mAh battery along with QC 3.0 technology. Thanks to AI charging, the phone charges intelligently and keep save from short circuits and overvoltage.
