Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Debuts with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 

Another device released in Samsung Unpacked is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which comes at a lower price as compared to last year. It has a 7.6 inches Dynamic AMOLED internal screen, 6.2 inches cover display, 12GB RAM, up to 1TB memory options, 4400 mah battery, 4MP front camera under the screen, and much more. The hinge also looks better and more improved than last year.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with a foldable 7.6 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a resolution of 1812 x 2176 pixels and supports HDR10+. The cover display of the device is 6.2 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X which also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a resolution of 904 x 2316 pixels, a screen ratio of 23.1:9, and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added durability. 

The device has an aluminum frame and a plastic front when folded. It has a thickness of 6.1mm when unfolded, folded thickness of 13.4mm, and weighs around 253g. The device also has IPX8 water resistance (up to 1.5m for 30 min) and support for a stylus. It has a fingerprint sensor on the side, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC for connectivity. Processor & Storage

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 gets its processing power from Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that is designed for Galaxy. It is an octa-core processor with 1 x 3.36Ghz Cortex X3 core, 2 x 2.8Ghz Cortex A715 cores, 2 x 2.8Ghz Cortex A710 cores, and 3 x 2.0 Ghz Cortex A510.

The device comes with 12GB RAM and UFS 4.0 flash memory options of 512GB and 1TB. 

Camera

The front camera of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5’s external screen is 10MP (f/2.2 and 1.22um). It has a 4MP camera under the screen for the internal screen (f/1.8 and 2.0um). On the rear side, it has a triple camera setup. The primary lens is 50MP (f/1.8 and supports OIS), 12MP super wide angle with a 123-degree field of view, and 10MP telephoto lens (3 times zoom and OIS support).

The battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a 4400mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. It also has 15W wireless charging support. 

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has been officially announced and is available for pre-order. Its delivery will start in the first week of August. It has only two variants for the users to choose from

• The price for 12+512GB is 13999 yuan ($1961)
• The price for 12GB+1TB is 15999 yuan ($2241)
