After several teasers, today, Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer business software department, confirmed that the Hongmeng / HarmonyOS 2.0 developer Beta release date is set to be December 16 in Beijing.
Wang Chenglu posted on Weibo, saying:
HarmonyOS is growing rapidly along the road map we announced on HDC, and a new milestone is ushered in a blink of an eye. On December 16, I will release the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer Beta version in Beijing. I welcome partners, developer friends to come, explore and create together.
In September this year, Yu Chengdong announced that Hongmeng / HarmonyOS 2.0 will be released for developers in the Beta version. The OS will be released for large screens, watches, and cars from September 10, and for phones in December. Next year, Huawei smartphones will be fully upgraded to Hongmeng/HarmonyOS 2.0.
According to Wang Chenglu, users who upgraded to EMUI 11 will have the priority to upgrade to Hongmeng OS 2.0.
