Honor 30 Series Debuts | Specs, Price, Features You Need To Know

Yesterday, Honor 30 series became official with three smartphones releasing in the upper-mid and the high-end category. These phones are Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro, and Honor 30 Pro +. So, let’s get into the details and know each smartphone better:

Honor 30 Series

Honor 30 Series – A Less Expensive P40 Series?

1) Honor 30

Starting the series with the standard version which is Honor 30 and the less expensive one as well. IT has a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ OLED screen, with the punch-hole design in the upper left corner integrating the front camera. On the back, it has the quad-rear cameras and the iconic Honor written on the left side. It’s an aluminum + glass built.

Honor 30 doesn’t have a curved edge screen like the Pro and Pro + have. The phone is powered by a Kirin 985 5G SoC which stands between the old Kirin 980 and the latest Kirin 990 5G in terms of performance. The SoC is coupled with 6GB/8GB optional LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128/256GB optional UFS 2.1 storage. The storage isn’t expandable as there’s no MicroSD slot.

In terms of camera performance, we have the 40MP primary + 8MP super wide-angle + 8MP telephoto + 2MP macro Quad-Camera with OIS, laser focus, and 960fps slow-motion video recording. Moreover, there’s a 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom. On the front is the 32MP camera.

Connectivity aspects include Wi-Fi 5, USB 2.0 Type-C interface, 5G networking (dual-SIM), no 3.5mm audio jack and a single speaker. There’s also a cooling system installed in the phone for gaming.

It runs on Android 10 (EMUI 10.1 and Magic UI 3.1) and doesn’t support Google services. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery which supports 40W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging.

2) Honor 30 Pro

The Pro version is much powerful than the standard version and has a nice curved display in the Honor 30 series. It has a 6.57-inch waterfall OLED screen (Full-HD+) with a 70-degree curve on both sides. There’s dual punch-hole design in the upper left corner (32MP + 8MP built-in), and quad rear cameras on the back with the same HONOR logo visible. It also has IP54 dust and splash resistance.

The phone is powered by a Kirin 995 5G SoC which is Hisilicon’s most powerful SoC. The SoC is coupled with 8GB/12GB optional LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB optional UFS 3.0 storage. The storage is expandable as there’s a MicroSD slot. There’s also an in-screen fingerprint reader as well.

3) Honor 30 Pro +

Last but not least in the Honor 30 series, we have Honor 30 Pro + which is the highest variant of the Honor 30 series. It ranks at 2nd in terms of rear camera performance, only beaten by Huawei P40 Pro. It has the same appearance as Honor 30 Pro but the hardware is further upgraded. On the front, we see the 6.57-inch waterfall OLED screen (Full-HD+) with a 70-degree curve on both sides and a refresh rate of 90Hz. There’s dual punch-hole design in the upper left corner (32MP + 8MP built-in), and quad rear cameras on the back with the same HONOR logo visible. It also has IP54 dust and splash resistance.
