Honor Magic VS2 debuts Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Chipset

In recent times, foldable phones have become the new hype. And this time, it’s the Honor Magic VS2, officially released in China. The device comes with industry-leading specifications and a heavy price tag. It comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, up to 16GB RAM, maximum device storage of 512GB, an external 6.43-inch OLED screen, an internal screen of 7.92 inches, a titanium hinge, a 16MP front camera, triple cameras on the back side, a 5000mAh battery, and much more.

Display & Appearance

The external screen of the Honor Magic VS2 is 6.43 inches OLED with a resolution of 2376 x 1060. It has a screen ratio of 20:9 and supports a screen refresh rate of 120Hz (1-120Hz LTPO) making the device perform efficiently. It has 3840Hz PWM dimming, 10-bit color depth, DCI P3 color gamut, and supports natural light-like eye protection. 

The internal screen of the Honor Magic VS2 is 7.92 inches with a resolution of 2272 x 1984. It has a screen ratio of 9.78:9 and supports 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate, for efficient battery performance. The screen has 3840Hz PWM dimming, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI P3 color gamut, and supports natural light eye protection. 

The folded thickness of the device is 10.7mm, the unfolded thickness of 5.1mm, and weighs around 229g. It runs on MagicOS 7.2, supporting the breath wake-up input method, voice to text and both the screens support a stylus. The device is released in the following colors

The hinge of the Honor Magic VS2

The hinge of any foldable phone has to be the most important thing to consider. It has an Honor Luban titanium hinge, mortise, and tenon integrated molding process. The hinge uses Honor’s self-developed made of structural steel, supports free hovering, and the screen support structure is upgraded to rare Earth magnesium alloy. 

Processor & Display

At the heart of Honor Magic VS2 lies the 3.0Ghz Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile chipset. It also has an independent secure storage chip for better performance. To make the device perform even better, it has RAM options of 12GB and 16GB. As for device storage, users can choose between 256GB and 512 GB.

Camera

The front camera of the external screen of Honor Magic VS2 is 16MP. As well as the front facing of the internal screen is 16MP. On the rear side, it has a triple camera setup. The primary lens if 50MP, 12MP ultra-wide angle, and 20MP telephoto (2.5x optical zoom, 40x digital zoom and OIS)

Battery

The battery capacity of the Honor Magic VS2 is a 5000mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. 

Price & Availability

The Honor Magic VS2 has been officially released in China and will be soon available in other parts of the world. It has limited variants to make the buying process easier for consumers.
