iOS 16.3 Officially Released | Security Improvements

After several weeks of testing, Apple officially announced the latest and greatest version of their operating system, iOS 16.3. Because Apple makes both the hardware and software, this makes iOS one of the smoothest operating software. Apple released the latest update of iOS 16.3 on January 23 at 10 am PT. The best thing about Apple updates is, all the phones will get the update at the same time. iPhone 8 to iPhone 14 Pro Max will be getting the update.

Security and Data Protection

Apple has always been keen to improve the security of its users. With the release of iOS 16.3, iCloud Advanced data protection will now use end-to-end encryption. The categories have been increased to 23 including Notes, Photos, etc. Even if things go south, the data will be safe. 


Wallpaper and Lock Screen

Apple has added a new wallpaper in their directory called “Unity”. It is to celebrate Black History Month and pay tribute to the culture and history of the black race.

Some users reported issues with iPhone 14 Pro Max and lines appearing on the screen, Apple has fixed that with iOS 16.3. 


iOS 16.3 has improved the music requests made through Siri. The personal assistant has been made even smarter. Apple Carplay has also been refined to further cater to the needs of users.

SOS Emergency Contact

The procedure for calling SOS emergency contact has been modified. Users now need to press and release the side button with volume up/down to initiate or prevent accidental emergency calls.
