Hisilicon Kirin 990 Release Date Set – Debuts in IFA 2019 exhibition

For all the Huawei fans out there, now there are two major events from Huawei in the second half of this year. First is the release of Kirin 990 flagship SoC and second is the launch of Huawei Mate 30 series. Today, Huawei officially tweeted on a teaser, hinting the release date of Hisilicon Kirin 990 SoC which will be releasing on September 6th, at the IFA 2019 exhibition.

Huawei’s main focus in this IFA 2019 will be:

  • 5G development
  • Hisilicon Kirin 990
  • Surprise product release

According to previous news, Kirin 990 will feature TSMC’s 7nm EUV process, and it is highly likely that we will see an internal integrated 5G modem.

Not surprisingly, in addition to the process upgrade, Kirin 990 will continue to perform on the basis of Kirin 980, and it is expected to adopt the self-developed Da Vinci architecture NPU (found in Kirin 810).

According to the traditions, the Huawei Mate 30 series will be the first to feature the first Kirin 990 SoC as well as the first EMUI 10 phone with the upgraded camera setup.

As the rumors say, Huawei Mate 30 series is expected to debut in Munich on September 19, and later in Shanghai on September 26 as Chinese version release. It should be noted that Huawei hasn’t officially mentioned the release date of Kirin 990 but almost every Huawei fan expect it to come this September 5.
