HMD Global launched the Nokia 8 in 2017, the company’s first Android phone worthy of the flagship title. Although its launch was far from perfect, the company has been continuously improving it with software updates to solve its problems and shortcomings. These include the missing features which came later in the Nokia 8 Sirocco and the Nokia 7 Plus. One of these missing functions was the Pro camera mode, which has been very popular among Nokia phones since its inception in the Lumia series. Nokia confirmed that it was already working on Nokia 8 camera update to bring the Pro camera mode on Nokia 8.
Today, it finally brings the Pro Camera Mode on Nokia 8 in a firmware update. The HMD Product Manager, Juho Sarvikas, explained through Twitter the reason why it took so long for the company it implement the function:
We had to review the whole image system … it took us longer than I anticipated, but now it looks good. We will update as soon as possible.
