OPPO Reno 2 Series – Similarities, Differences, and The Specs

In terms of appearance, the three new phones Reno2, Reno2 Z and Reno2 F are basically in line with the original Reno smartphone. The design language of the back cover is shifted to the central axis. The main change compared with the previous one is that the “vertical bar” where the rear camera is located is pulled longer. The front of the device is a true full-screen type. The difference between all these models is that in Reno 2’s front camera and front LED is integrated into the hidden “shark fin” slider similar to the first generation, while Reno 2 Z and F have these in the top middle with simple lifting module only.

Among the three phones, Reno 2 has the most high-end specs. It’s equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen and 4,000mAh battery supporting VOOC 3.0 20W charging, as well as NFC. Reno 2 Z and F both use 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, the processor is MediaTek, in ‘Z’ it is Helio P90 and in ‘F’ it is P70. Both phones have the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB and 128GB of storage. Like the Reno 2, the battery is 4,000mAh and supports VOOC 3.0 charging via USB-C.

In the camera section, the front camera of the three phones is 16MP. Although the back is a quad-camera setup, the configuration is different. The strongest camera is of Reno 2 which uses 48MP (IMX586 with optical image stabilization) + 13MP (telephoto) + 8MP (ultra wide-angle) + 2MP (monochrome) sensor. They are combined to achieve 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom. Reno2 Z and F both chose 48MP (primary camera) + 8MP (super wide angle) + 2MP (monochrome) + 2MP (depth of field) combination, the difference is that the Reno 2 Z primary camera is Sony’s IMX586, and for Reno F, it is Samsung’s GM1.
