Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Released | Newer Generation Better Support

Qualcomm has launched its latest processor, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 mobile processor. The SM4450 chipset will be first seen in the newly launched Redmi Note 12R. It is a second-generation chipset with improved processing technology, memory support, and better CPU frequency. 

Release Highlights 

  • The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is based on the Samsung 4nm process. 
  • It has 2 x 2.2Ghz A78 cores and 6 x 2.0 Ghz A55 cores. 
  • The GPU is Qualcomm Adreno 613, clocked at 955Mhz
  • It supports memory flash up to 3200Mhz LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 flash memory.
  • The screen support is upto FHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate
  • It can support a rear primary camera of up to 108MP

Specifications of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2

The second generation of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 comes with improved computing power and support for better components. It is based on Samsung’s 4nm architecture with 8 cores. The 2 cores are 2.2Ghz A78 while the other 6 are 2.0Ghz A55. It runs with the Qualcomm Adreno 613 955 Mhz GPU.

The flash memory support is up to 3200Mhz LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1. As for connections, it has an integrated Snapdragon X61 5G modem, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and support for the NavIC satellite system. 

The screen support for the processor is up to FHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has camera support for 108MP. 

The processor is a good option for phones oriented in the mid-range category phones. Redmi Note 12R is officially released to evaluate the processor’s performance better. What do you think of the new processor?
