Redmi Y2 (S2) Gets Android 9.0 Pie Update Via OTA – MIUI V10.3.3!

Redmi Y2 / S2 which is known as Redmi S2 in India is receiving Android 9.0 Pie update based on MIUI 10 Stable ROM. The file size is 1.4GB and the update version is from MIUI V10.3.1 to MIUI V10.3.3.PEFMIXM.

Redmi Y2 Android 9.0 Pie Update (MIUI V10.3.3) allows the user to lock Google Contacts. It also comes with a fix for an issue related to the deletion of contacts. Moreover, the clock in the lock screen is also customizable now.

What’s New?

  • Locking Google contacts is available now
  • Introducing customizable Lock screen clock (Settings > Lock screen & password > Advanced settings). Note:  New Lock screen clock doesn’t work with third-party themes.
  • Use your fingerprint to open Home screen once you unlocked the device using face data and stayed on the Lock screen

  • Contacts couldn’t be deleted from SIM cards in some cases
  • Media volume couldn’t be restored after receiving a notification
  • Hands-free call duration wasn’t displayed correctly in Game Turbo

How to Get the Update?

You can get the update via OTA through Mi Updater App already present in your phone. The OTA update will reach all units of Redmi Y2 / S2 in a few weeks. If you are not able to get the update then you can flash the ROM from here. Remember currently the 10.3.1 version is there and the 10.3.3 version will be available once OTA update finishes on all units.
