Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Chip debuts with 12 Core CPU

Qualcomm has launched its latest chipset for laptops, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Chip. It will be first seen in Microsoft, Lenovo, Dell, and HP in the middle of next year. The processor will take processing speeds to next year and provide an unmatchable user experience. 

Release Highlights

  • The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Chip uses an Oryon 12-core CPU based on 4nm process technology
  • It will have a 3.8Ghz single core and dual core boost up to 4.3Ghz

Performance

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset will be using 4nm processing technology. It will be running on Qualcomm Oryon 12-core CPUs based on 64-bit architecture. The CPU supports 3.8Ghz single core and dual core boost of up to 4.3Ghz. It is said to have better and stronger performance when compared to the Apple 12 core M2 Max and Intel 14 core i7-1355U. 

GPU

The GPU for the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset with Adreno GPU, with computing power of up to 4.6TFLOPs. It supports DX12 and is said to achieve 80% performance improvement with one-fifth power consumption of 7940Hs core display. The GPU will perform two times faster as compared to the Intel Iris XE of i7 13800H.

NPU

The NPU of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X chipset will feature the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. It will have 45 TOPs, support generative AI models for future-proofing, and more than 13 billion on the device parameters. 

Memory Capacity of the Snapdragon X Elite

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X chipset will support LPDDR5x memory with a maximum capacity of 64GB. It has a total cache of 42 MB, memory bandwidth of 136 GB/s, transfer rates of 8533 MT/s, and eight channels. The storage options it supports are SD v3.0, PCIe Hen 4 NVME, and UFS 4.0. 

Audio Modem

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X chipset will support dual Bluetooth, LE audio, and Snapdragon Listen with spatial audio ( supports 48kHz lossless music streaming with as low as 48ms low latency. 

Scalability 

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X chipset will support up to 3 USB 4.0, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2, and 1 eUSB2 ports. It will be able to connect three 4K UHD displays (60Hz) or two 5K displays.
