Home Latest News The anticipation is finally over because Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 released today. The flagship was the spotlight of the conference along with a surprise release of Xiaomi Notebook Pro and a mid-end phone, Mi Note 3. Indeed: Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the most beautiful Full-Screen smartphone till date It’s something more than we expected especially the incredibility low price tag. Here’s everything you need to know about: Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 – Evolution From A Concept Design To A True Flagship Killer Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 continues the full-screen design from the first generation. The phone is narrower than Mi MIX, thanks to the 18:9 ratio. Xiaomi persuaded Google to provide support to 18:9 phones so that the full-screen smartphones could be faster. There’s no border on the forehead; the earpiece is still integrated under the hood. Sadly, it still uses the Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology for the earpiece which has some issues. Hope Xiaomi has fixed them. We expected it to come with the new AAC technology which has better sound quality. The chin of the phone is a lot thinner than Xiaomi Mi MIX. It should be noted that the phone is compact with a screen size of 6-inch and supports one-hand operation. Moreover, the corners are more curved rather than pointed. Mi MIX 2 simply uses the COF screen-driven flexible packaging technology, active antenna tuning layout and micro-front camera module for the chin of the phone. It’s 12% thinner than the chin of Mi MIX. The screen ratio is indeed close to 95%. Xiaomi name this new modified design “Full-screen 2.0”. The phone is forged from 7 series aluminum alloy rather than glass which increases the phone robustness and decreases the chassis weight. There’s a special version which is made of ceramic for a much premium effect but poor robustness. The best part is that Xiaomi has made the 18K gold plated rim on the rear camera. Moving to the configuration, Mi MIX 2 is listed in the high-end smartphones because the heart of the flagship is Snapdragon 835. The SoC is accompanied by 6GB RAM and is powered by a 3400mAh battery (support quick charge). The phone integrates a 5.99-inch SHARP 1080 x 2160 pixels display. The thing we didn’t like was the rear camera. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 inherits the single rear camera from Mi MIX 2 and the rear fingerprint reader. It’s a 12MP Sony IMX 386 sensor with 1.25μm lens and four-axis optical image stabilization. We personally think that Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is way better than Mi MIX 2 in camera performance. Maybe there wasn’t enough space left under the hood to integrate a secondary camera. The most noteworthy feature is that Xiaomi MIX 2’s speaker was replaced by a conventional solution, which greatly improved the slot (high power 50 mW speaker + sound guiding tube) along with hidden ultrasonic proximity sensor.
