Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 Will Have a 5G Version in Second Half – Lei Jun

Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi and chairman of Xiaomi Group, posted a poster of 5G on Weibo. The poster hinted that there will be a Xiaomi 5G phone to release in the second half of 2019. People assume that could be Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 5G.

Currently limited by cost, platform, and other reasons, 5G function is only supported on the flagship model, that is why the phone could be none other than Mi MIX 4 hinted by Lei Jun.

Xiaomi  Product Director ‘Wang Teng’ revealed that Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is charging faster than Xiaomi 9. At present, Xiaomi Mi 9 has already supported 20W wireless flash charging (the world’s first). It is speculated that Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 5G will most likely support higher-power wireless flash charging, and break the record.

In the core configuration, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will feature Snapdragon 855 Plus. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855 Plus integrates the Snapdragon X24 LTE 4G modem supporting multi-gigabit connections and implements 5G connectivity by utilizing the Snapdragon X50 5G modem and Qualcomm RF front-end solution.

Finally, concerning the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 release date, Xiaomi co-founder and President ‘Lin Bin’ confirmed that Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will not be released in August.
