Today, at 10 am (GMT+8), the new generation of the Xiaomi Projectors came with the introduction of Xiaomi Mijia Projector 2 Pro (MJTYY03FM) in China. The price of the Mijia Projector 2 Pro is 4599 Yuan ($657). Let’s get into the details and know more about the newly released projector.
Xiaomi Mijia Projector 2 Pro uses a 4-channel Luminus LED light source with a brightness of up to 1300 ANSI lumens. The brightness is enough to clearly see the projection in the daytime. Moreover, the color gamut is ≥100% Rec709 and the projector supports HDR10+ decoding. It’s a Full-HD resolution projector.
It has a projection ratio of only 1.1:1 and can project a maximum of 200 inches display. However, Xiaomi recommends a large 60-120 inch screen for the best resolution (80 inches for 2 meters, 100 inches for 2.5 meters, and 120 inches for 3 meters).
The greatest highlight of the projector is the two focus modes: TOF non-sensing focus and camera focus. With a 6-axis spiral instrument, it can immediately complete smart focus whether the focus is done for the first time or the projector has moved.
Furthermore, it supports vertical trapezoidal automatic correction. Xiaomi Mijia Projector 2 Pro is equipped with screen stepless zoom and screen shift functions which easily and smoothly zoom the display to 60%-100%, and can move the projection in any direction.
As far as the hardware is concerned, the Amlogic T972 processor powers the Xiaomi Mijia Projector 2 Pro. The SoC is accompanied by 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. In comparison to the standard version which has Amologic T962, the performance has increased by 63% and power consumption is reduced by 55%. The hardware supports 4K decoding as well as 8K decoding.
On the back, we have the connectivity options including the 1x Ethernet port, 2x USB 2.0, 1x 3.5MM headphone jack, S/PDIF, 1x HDMI(ARC), and 1x HDMI.
In terms of sound quality, the Mijia Projector 2 Pro has an improved sound quality over the standard version. Thanks to the dual 10W, 1.75-inch full-frequency high-fidelity speakers, and a large passive basin design for low-frequency diving to 60Hz. One can also activate the smart speaker mode in which even if the projection is not running, Xiao Ai voice assistant is still enabled (limited to Chinese language only). Since it has the Bluetooth 4.2 module, you can connect the projector to Bluetooth and play the playlist on your phone. This is the smart speaker mode.
Mijia Projector 2 Pro supports Miracast / DLNA / Airplay multiple screen projection methods.
Other features include a built-in Xiao Ai voice assistant (hands-free), supports far-field voice, uses a microphone array composed of 4 highly sensitive sensors, and cooperates with anti-exposure recognition and wake-up technology.
Xiaomi Mijia Projector 2 Pro uses the same PatchWall artificial intelligence TV system as Xiaomi TV. I really loved how it also connects to Mijia IoT devices. While streaming content, the projection also displays smart home appliances status and control. Thus, it is the projector and the smart hub at the same time.
The Mijia Projector 2 Pro price is 4599 Yuan ($657) in China. It’s available for pre-orders for the Chinese audience. However, global availability and purchase is still in question. We might have to wait for a few days until it starts selling on platforms like Aliexpress and Gearbest. If so, I’ll add the link to the stores as well.
For purchase in China, buy from Jingdong.
