Today, on February 4th, Xiaomi POCO X2 released in India. It’s the first phone by POCO after becoming an independent brand.
Starting with the appearance we see a 6.67-inch smartphone with dimensions of 165.3 x 76.6 x 8.8 mm and weighing 208g. On the front, we witness the dual punch-hole design on the enormous 6.67-inch LCD IPS display. We do miss the AMOLED display, however, to cover that the screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz perfect for smooth gaming. Moreover, HDR10 is also supported and the max brightness is around 500 nits.
Considering the built quality, we don’t have plastic this time, but a much premium front and back glass with the aluminum frame in the center. Both the rear and front glass are coated with Gorilla Glass Protection 5.
Moving to the hardware, we have the Snapdragon 730G, a mid-end gaming SoC, coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64/128/256GB UFS 2.1 ROM. It looks like the X series is now the mid-end mobile gaming series. The phone is powered by a 4500mAh battery supporting a 27W fast charge.
Interestingly, the front has a dual camera combination of 20MP and 2MP. Meanwhile, the rear is 64MP primary camera (Sony IMX686) + 8MP ultra wide-angle + 2MP depth of field + 2MP super macro quad camera.
It is worth noting that XDA claims that POCO X2 may provide kernel source code, which allows developers to develop third-party ROMs for POCO X2. At the moment it runs on Android 10, MIUI 11.
Besides, like the POCO F1, the POCO X2 also supports unlocking (bootloader), and players can freely toss as they like.
The pricing is based on the following three variants:
Note: There will be a discount of Rs.1000 if purchased from ICICI credit or debit card.
The phone will start selling on Flipkart, India, at noon on February 11th. It is available in blue, purple and red color options. The international purchase will open after a couple of months in stores like Aliexpress and Gearbest. We will inform when this happens.
