At last the anticipation is over, Xiaomi released Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, today. We have two versions, starting with a price of 899 Yuan. It’s a budget-friendly flagship, and the front camera is the highlight of the flagship. More of the leaks turn out to be true.
Let’s get into the details to know the flagship better:
The phone is ready to compete with similar flagships such as OPPO R9 and Vivo X7. The Note 5A features the same three-staged metal design in the Redmi series and the symmetrical border layout at the rear matches these flagships. Concerning the physical dimensions, the phone occupies a 153 x 76.2 x 7.7mm and weight 153g.
Moreover, the 2.5D glass on the front further enhances the beauty of the flagship. The phone comes in three variants: Champagne gold, Rose gold and Platinum silver.
Coming to the configuration, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A integrates a 5.5-inch 720p display. The heart of the flagship is Qualcomm’s latest low-end Snapdragon 435 SoC in higher version and Snapdragon 625 in lower version. It’s further accompanied by a built-in 3/4GB memory and 32/64GB ROM. Luckily, the flagship already runs on MIUI 9 and a 3080mAh battery power it.
There are two highlights of the flagship. First is the front 16MP camera featuring 36 levels of beauty in the beauty mode and the front LED flash, only in the higher edition. Sadly, the standard one has a common 5MP front camera. Meanwhile, the rear camera is 13MP. Last but not least is the three slot design (support 2 SIM cards + one TF card up to 128GB).
Getting in details, the front LED flash of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A has a self-timer. When it detects the face, it stimulates the effect of natural light shooting, brightens the skin tone and eye light reflection.
The Redmi Note 5A has the following price tag:
The phone will start selling on August 22 at 10:00 (Beijing Time) in Jingdong Mall and Xiaomi Official Store.
We will provide you the links to the international Chinese stores for global purchasing when the phone becomes available.
Looking at the release of the flagship, we can say that Xiaomi has done some great innovation. However, these innovations will attract the selfie lovers especially the female users out there. Xiaomi could have named it Redmi 5A instead of Redmi Note 5A. The Redmi Note family consist of only mid-enders. However, this is a low-end flagship. Xiaomi even continues to use the old Snapdragon 425 in the standard version and the new Snapdragon 435 in the higher version. The variants are not same at all. The standard one is way thicker and features a common 5MP front camera. Meanwhile, the higher enjoys all the benefits with the 16MP front camera. Truly, the variants difference is too much which is not a good marketing strategy.
