Huawei Releases P40 Pro+ With Ceramic Built & Five Rear Cameras

In addition to the regular upgraded versions of the P40 and P40 Pro, Huawei also introduced another top-level variant, the P40 Pro+ this time, with different designs and specifications which stands out the entire P40 series.

Design & Appearance

The back of the P40 Pro+ is made of special ceramic material. It also has a unique ceramic black and ceramic white color scheme, covered with the matte process.

On the front, the phone adopts a four-sided curved punch-hole screen for the first time, and it is a dual-punch hole this time to cover the dual front camera.

Another aspect is that the rear camera section takes enormous space on the back with three lenses vertically align in one column and two more lenses along dual-tone LED Flash aligned on another column. The camera section also appears to protrude out from the main chassis as well. We hope the camera glass has some sort of Gorilla Glass Protection to prevent it from scratches.

Yes, the Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro+ are waterproof with IP 68 certification. This means that they are also dustproof as well. Getting into details, IP 68 certification means that the P40 Pro and Pr0 + can be submerged in 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

Screen & Display

The screen is a 6.58-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 2640 × 1200, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a wide color gamut of DCI-P3, and automatic blue light filtering.

It is worth mentioning that the P40 series comes standard with the under-screen optical fingerprint design, VAS voice and audio services, customized high energy efficiency and low noise smart audio amplifier.

The P40 Pro+ uses the world’s first RYYB periscope telephoto lens, which supports 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom, increasing the amount of light by 40%. It’s also the world ’s first multi-reflection super periscope telephoto lens system. The light reflection amount is increased by 5 times, and it supports 10x optical zoom, 20x hybrid zoom, 100x digital zoom, and also supports the world’s first full-pixel octa-PD autofocus system, which is more accurate in low-light environments, and has an ISO range up to 409600.

P40 Pro+ also has a new generation of an ultra-sensitive film camera, a 1/1.54-inch sensor, supports 16-in-1 pixel fusion technology (4.48 microns), can shoot 4K super zoom time-lapse photography, 7680fps ultra-high-speed photography, and even a zoomed video of the moon.

With the front 32MP main camera (F2.2) one can shoot a 4K video, plus IR infrared depth/attitude camera (the middle is the ambient light and distance sensor), supports full scene face recognition unlock, intelligent attitude control (isolated No operation, etc.), AI separation mode.
