One couldn’t perceive the fact that it’s a $100+ flagship. However, nothing is perfect. If we look at the bottom, there’s the eye-catching big chin which reminds you that indeed this phone here is a budget phone. Redmi 7 Review – First Impression Surprisingly, Redmi is the first to popularize the water-drop layout in a 100 USD flagship. It can be seen that the front lens and some sensors are integrated into the drop-shaped non-display area at the top center. In comparison to Redmi 6, the breathing LED notification has been moved from the top, since there’s no space, and moved to the chin with a hidden design. Maybe that’s why the chin is thick. Redmi 7 appears to be one of the highest quality hundred dollar smartphone. Despite shell molding from plastic, we have the popular gradient color (we have the red colored variant with us) design adds a lot to its value, just like Redmi Note 7. Redmi Note 7 was criticized for its durability, however, for Redmi 7, under 699 yuan, it’s completely fine to have that kind of durability. Isn’t it? From the first impression, it’s hard to determine whether it’s a cheap 100 dollar flagship. The back shell supports the P2i life splash-proof, forming a uniform water-repellent film on the surface of the phone, and letting the water droplets slip away. Incorporating the 4000mAh battery, the visual thickness of the Redmi 7 is still relatively obvious, but those 180 grams are still not that heavy. Besides, the back is curved, offering a perfect hand grip and distributing the weight equally. In short, there’s no downside of the design apart from the big chin. The plastic built is considered cheap but the splash-proof coating, gradient design, and cheap price cover that.See also8Total RatingXiaomi Mijia v2 styj02ym 2 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner Review – Test, App PreviewDeyxon Ortiz·October 2, 2019 Redmi 7 Top has an IR blaster and the traditional 3.5mm audio jack Redmi 7 Bottom has a Micro-USB port, the speaker is still mono with two opening [su_heading size=”20″ margin=”30″]Screen & Display[/su_heading] The big chin is indeed a bit awkward, but the selection of the external screen is still very impressive. On the front, there’s the massive 6.26-inch water-drop LCD IPS full screen coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection 5. The fifth-generation has a four-fold increase in resistance to shattering compared to the previous generation. The ancestor ‘Redmi 6’ didn’t have any Gorilla Glass Protection. Moreover, Xiaomi recently added a professional blue light filter in its display to protect the user’s eye from harmful blue light emitted from the display. Since the production cost is much limited, the screen is 720 x 1520 pixel (HD+). What is certain is that it is not as delicate as 1080P, but unless the naked eye is close to the screen, it is difficult to see the edge of the pixel daily, and there is no obvious unusual perception of its resolution during daily use. Concluding this section, it’s good to see a massive display with the addition of Gorilla Glass Protection 5 along with blue light protection under 699 yuan ($104).
