How to Pair The Earbuds?

To an Android Device

Step 1: Download the Samsung Gear app.

Step 2: Insert the earbuds into the charging case and close its lid.

Step 3: Open the lid of the charging case and take the earbuds out. After that, the earbuds will turn on automatically.

Step 4: Place the earbuds into the ear canal so they enter pairing mode.

Step 5: Open the Samsung Gear app.

Step 6: Select “Connect to Gear”.

Step 7: Select the “Gear IconX R (0000)” earbuds.

Step 8: Follow the prompts to complete the connection. The “Connected” voice prompt will sound on the main earbud, and the pairing will be done.

To PC (Windows)

Step 1: Turn on Bluetooth on the desired device.

Step 2: Go to the settings.

Step 3: Go to “Bluetooth and other devices”.

Step 4: Click on “Add device”.

Step 5: Download the Samsung Gear app.

Step 6: Insert the earbuds into the charging case and close its lid.

Step 7: Open the lid of the charging case and take the earbuds out. After that, the earbuds will turn on automatically.

Step 8: Place the earbuds into the ear canal so they enter pairing mode.

Step 10: Select “Connect to Gear”.

How to Disconnect The Earbuds?

To disconnect the earbuds, all you have to do is to remove them from the ear canal. However, if they don’t disconnect, then do the following steps:

Step 1: Open the Samsung Gear app.

Step 2: Go to More.

Step 3: Select the Disconnect option.

How to Reconnect The Earbuds?

Once the earbuds are paired with the mobile device, they will automatically attempt to connect to it whenever you insert them into your ears. However, if they don’t reconnect, then do the following steps:

Step 1: Open the Samsung Gear app.

Step 3: Select the Reconnect option.

How to Set The Main Earbud?

These earbuds tend to work with a main earbud, and the right one is designated as the main one automatically. If you want to change this, then do the following steps:

Step 1: Open the Samsung Gear app.

Step 2: Go to Settings.

Step 3: Go to Select main earbud or Info.

Step 4: Select Earbuds.

Step 5: Press and hold the multifunction touch panel on the desired earbud, until a prompt sounds.

NOTE: This change may not automatically reconnect to the connected mobile device. If this happens, you must manually search for the earbuds and reconnect to the device.

How to Wear?

Step 1: Take both earbuds out of the charging case.

Step 2: Identify the left and right earbuds.

Step 3: Choose the ear tips that best suit your ears.

Step 4: Insert the headphones into the inner canal of the ears.

Step 5: Rotate for the best possible comfort and best fit, and make sure that the microphone is pointing to the mouth.

How to Turn On and Off?

Turn on: Open the lid of the charging case and take the earbuds out. After that, the earbuds will turn on automatically.

Turn off: Place the earbuds into the charging case. After that, the earbuds will turn off automatically. Also, the following process can be done:

Step 1: Remove the wingtip from one of the earbuds.

Step 2: Use a paper clip to press and hold the Restart button above the heart rate sensor in one of the earbuds for more than six seconds. Said earbud will turn off.

Step 3: Follow the same procedure for the other earbud to turn it off.

  • Play or pause a song: Press the multifunction touch panel on any of the earbuds one time.
  • Turn the volume up: Swipe up the multifunction touch panel on any of the earbuds.
  • Turn the volume down: Swipe down the multifunction touch panel on any of the earbuds.
  • Play the next song: Press the multifunction touch panel on any of the earbuds two times.

How to Use The Ambient Sound Mode?

To activate or deactivate the ambient sound mode in these earbuds, all you have to do is to press and hold the multifunction touch panel on both earbuds and release it when the “Enable ambient sound” voice prompt sounds. After that, the “Ambient sound enabled” voice prompt will sound.

NOTE: This feature will only activate with both earbuds into the ear canals.

How to Activate The Mono Mode?

To activate or deactivate the mono mode in these earbuds, all you have to do is to pair the earbuds to the device and take out one of the earbuds from the charging case. It will start working by itself.

How to Charge The Earbuds?

To charge the earbuds, all you have to do is to place them into the charging case and close the lid. The earbuds will start charging automatically.

Charging case

To charge the charging case, all you have to do is to connect the case to a USB charger or charging port with the included USB-A to C cable. It will start charging automatically.

Transfer Music Files To The Earbuds

With these earbuds, you can transfer music files from the connected mobile device to the earbuds through the Samsung Gear app.

Step 1: Insert the earbuds into the charging case and close its lid.

Step 2: Plug the USB connector into the multipurpose jack of the mobile device.

Step 3: Connect the charging case and the mobile device using the USB cable.

Step 4: Open the Samsung Gear app.

Step 5: Go to Settings.

Step 6: Select Music.

Step 7: Select Manage tracks.

Step 8: Select Add.

Step 8: Check music files to transfer and tap Done.

Also, there is another option:

Step 4: Press and hold the Restart button again on the first earbud. The earbud will restart after the heart rate sensor flashes three times.

Step 5: Follow the same procedure for the other earbud to restart it. After that, the process will be done.

The Earbuds’ Voice Prompts

  • Connected: The earbuds are now connected to the device.
  • Enable ambient sound: The Ambient Sound is turning on.
  • Ambient sound enabled: The Ambient Sound was turned on.

What Do The Lights Mean?

Charging case

  • A red light on the front stays on with the earbuds inside: The earbuds are charging.
  • A green light on the front stays on with the earbuds inside: The earbuds are fully charged.
  • A red light flashing quickly with the earbuds inside: The charging process was blocked due to abnormal temperature.
  • A red light flashing at medium pace with the earbuds inside: The earbuds are not connected to the charging contacts/The case has a low battery.
  • A red light flashes one time with the earbuds inside: There was a charging error.
  • A red light on the back stays on while charging: The case is charging.
  • A green light on the back stays on while charging: The case is fully charged.
  • A red light flashing quickly while charging: The charging process was blocked due to abnormal temperature.
  • A red light flashing slowly: The case has a low battery.

A Guide To The Samsung Gear IconX App

The Samsung Gear IconX have an application specially made for them, and it is the Samsung Gear app, also known as Galaxy Wearable (Samsung Gear), which is available on the Play Store. After connecting the earbuds to the app, two main pages will appear Info and Settings.

  • Info page: On this first page, you will find various options to use the earbuds, such as various tips, the battery percentage of each of the earbuds, the power to control the volume, and more.
  • Settings page: On this second and last page, you will have the possibility to use various extra features of the earbuds, such as managing the tracks saved on the earbuds, notifications, configuring the ambient sound mode, and more options.

Some Common Problems & Troubleshooting

Left / Right / One side of the earbuds has stopped working

If this happens, it may be because it is low on battery or it did not connect correctly with the device. To fix this, you can do the following:

1. Try charging the earbud that is not working or both, placing them in the charging case.

2. Try factory resetting the earbuds.

3. Check if the earbuds are operating within a normal working range

If that doesn’t work, the earbud is probably faulty, and I can go for a refund or replacement of it.

Left / Right / One side of the earbuds has a low volume

If this happens, it may be because the earbuds are dirty or the volume is set low. To fix this, you can do the following:

1. Try cleaning the earbud using a cotton swab or carefully clean the mesh with a pin.

2. Try factory resetting the earbuds.

The microphone is not working

If this happens, it can be because the microphone is muted, or the earbuds are badly positioned. To fix this, you can do the following:

If the microphone is muted, check the device microphone volume. If that doesn’t work, that means that there might be a defect in the earbud, so try replacing them or get a refund.

The earbuds are not connecting to Windows/laptop/PC

If the earbuds are earbuds not connecting, it can be because the Bluetooth on the computer has a pairing problem. To fix this, you can do the following:

1. Try disabling Bluetooth from nearby devices >>> then activate the pairing mode of the earbuds, pair and connect earbuds from Settings >>> Bluetooth & other devices >>> Add a new device >>>> select Bluetooth.

2. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth driver, or updating the Bluetooth driver. All can be done in Manage >>> Device Manager, reset earbuds (if available), and then repeat the step.

3. Try resetting the earbuds.
