Home Comparison With the advancement in technology, we are seeing incredible changes in the products we used for decades. Such are the treadmills that have changed from the large bulky ones to slim, ultra-portable, and mobile operated ones named ‘portable treadmills’. Such is the Xiaomi WalkingPad lineup. Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 portable treadmill and its subsequent versions R1 and C1 to the market and, today, we are going to compare them to see which is the best of all three in this Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1 comparison. So, let’s get started: What's Inside ToggleXiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1 – Specs Sheet ComparisonDesign & Appearance ComparisonMain Build differenceRunning AreaColor DifferenceSize & PortabilityLED screen differenceBoard ComparisonHardware & Speed ComparisonFeatures ComparisonApp & Connectivity ComparisonPrice ComparisonOur verdict Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1 – Specs Sheet Comparison ModelC1A1A1 ProR1Dimensions1449 x 528 x 140 mm (Unfolded)1432 x 547 x 129 mm (Unfolded)1432 x 547 x 129 mm (Unfolded)1485 x 552 x 107 mm (Unfolded)Body BuildPlastic (also has Aluminium Alloy version)Aluminium AlloyAluminium AlloyAluminium AlloyRunning beltAluminum alloyHigh-density fiberboardHigh-density fiberboardHigh-density fiberboardWalking Area1200 x 400 mm1200 x 415 mm1200 x 415 mm1200 x 440 mmNet weight22 kg28 kg28 kg33 kgGross Weight25 kg31 kg31 kg38 kgMaximum Weight Supported90 kg (100 kg advertised)90 kg100 kg110 kgDisplayYes, on the remote controlYes, on the main bodyYes, on the main bodyYes, on the main bodyRemote ControllerYesYesYesYesSports ModesWalking, Brisk Walking, JoggingWalking, Brisk Walking, JoggingWalking, Brisk Walking, JoggingWalking, Brisk Walking, Jogging, RunningSpeed Range0 to 6 km/h0 to 6 km/h0 to 6 km/h0 to 10 km/hRated Power0.78 HP (588W)1 HP (764W)1 HP (764W)1.25 HP (918W)MotorCarbon BrushCarbon BrushNo brush motor (a better life)No brush motor (a better life)Vertical StorageNoNoNoYesArm RestNoNoNoYes (Optional)Safety KeyNoNoNoYesAppWalkingPad AppMijia AppMijia AppKS FitApp LanguageEnglish / ChineseMulti-languageMulti-languageMulti-languageApp Course LibraryNoNoNoYes Design & Appearance Comparison Design AspectWalkingPad C1WalkingPad A1WalkingPad A1 ProWalkingPad R1Body Build MaterialPlastic (also an aluminum alloy version available)Aluminium alloyAluminium alloyAluminium alloyColor OptionsWhite (plastic version); Grey (aluminum version)Silver-grayBlackSilverSize (Unfolded)1449 x 528 x 140 mm1432 x 547 x 129 mm1432 x 547 x 129 mm1485 x 552 x 107 mmWeight22 kg28 kg28 kg33 kgFoldability & StorageFoldable, smallest and thickestFoldableFoldableFoldable, the only model with vertical storage (standing)Design StyleLess streamlined, with protruding areas on platformStreamlined and more stable lookStreamlined and more stable lookMost streamlined, sleek with optional armrestRunning Belt Material & SizeAluminum alloy, walking area 1200 x 400 mmHigh-density fiberboard, 1200 x 415 mmHigh-density fiberboard, 1200 x 415 mmHigh-density fiberboard with EVA padding, 1200 x 440 mm (widest)Side BordersNot presentNarrow bordersNarrow bordersWidest borders with protectionDisplayLED status light on remote control (no main unit display)LED display on main bodyLED display on main bodyLED display on main bodyAdditional FeaturesNo armrest, no vertical storageNo armrest, no vertical storageNo armrest, no vertical storageOptional armrest, vertical storage available Starting with the design and appearance, all three Walkingpads are highly compact and offers incredible portability. Main Build difference The WalkingPad R1 leads in design with the widest running area, vertical storage option, optional armrest, and the most streamlined, premium aluminium alloy build. The A1 and A1 Pro share a similar aluminium design, streamlined appearance, and moderate walking belt width, with the Pro version having a slightly better finish and available in black. The C1 stands out as the most affordable model with a full plastic body (also an aluminium version), a narrower running belt, and a simpler look. It is the thickest model and lacks the main unit LED display, relying on the remote for status. Color-wise, C1 uses mostly white (plastic) or grey (aluminium), A1 is silver-gray, A1 Pro is black, and R1 is silver. Left: A1, Middle: C1, Right: R1 Running Area R1 Walkingpad has the widest running area, then comes A1, and C1 has the narrowest of them all. Color Difference Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 is only available in grey color. The R1 Walkingpad has a silver color to it. While the C1 WalkingPad is available in white color for the plastic version. The aluminum version of C1 is in grey color. Size & Portability In terms of portable, R1 is the thinnest and the largest one when it comes to size. Then comes A1 thickness and size. Lastly, C1 is the smallest of them all but the thickest. I noted that lengthwise C1 is slightly longer than A1 but not wider. [su_highlight background=”#fff447″]Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 gets a plus point since it has vertical storing[/su_highlight] which means that you can fold it and rest it near a wall, vertically occupying an area of 0.2 m³. The other treadmills can only be folded and stored horizontally under the bed or sofa. Because of the larger area, R1 is the heaviest of them all (33 kg), then comes A1, and the lightest is C1. All have the trolley wheels under them making them super easy to move around. LED screen difference The A1 and R1 have stats displayed on the main chassis. It’s a hidden LED design embedded in the top frame. Another newly released Xiaomi Walkingpad U1 has an entirely dedicated section of the LED display, unlike these three models. Xiaomi Walkingpad C1 is unique as it doesn’t have the status shown on the mainframe (just an LED indicator to show power status) but on the remote control. Personally, I think that it’s a bit inconvenient Walkingpad A1 and R1 has this status LED panel embedded in mainframe The winner of the design section is R1 Walkingpad because it has an optional armrest, is the thinnest, has the widest running area, and vertical storing. No other Walkingpad has these design highlights. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 Board Comparison The running board for A1 and R1 is High-density fiberboard which provides incredible cushioning and good friction while running. However, the difference in A1 and R1 is that R1 is padded with an additional EVA soft layer. Whereas, the C1 model has the belt made from an aluminum alloy which provides durability but not running experience as good as A1 and C1. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 Highlights: R1 has the widest and most comfortable board C1 has the narrowest and least comfortable board Hardware & Speed Comparison Moving to the hardware part of this Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1, the R1 has the most powerful configuration with a 1.25 HP (918W) motor reaching the highest speed of 10 km/h. The motor is brushless which ensures a longer life. Moreover, the weight limit is also the highest which is 110 kg. If you want even more power you can read our Amazfit AirRun Treadmill Review. Then comes A1 WalkingPad, which has a motor power of 1 HP (764W) and the max speed of 6 km/h. The motor is a carbon brush that doesn’t have a long life in comparison to the brushless. Moreover, the weight limit is 90 kg. Last but not least comes C1, which has the lowest motor power of them all 0.78 HP (588W) and a speed of 6 km/h. The motor is similar to A1 which is a carbon brush. The weight limit is quite controversial since Xiaomi advertises it to be 100 kg, however, we don’t think that it’s true. The motor is underpowered for that much weight and this is carbon brush type we are talking about. The weight limit should be 90 kg. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 Features Comparison Coming to the features section of this Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1 comparison, the 3 machines can be turned on and off using the sensor on the treadmills or with the remote control. You can also use the remote control to adjust the pace of your workout. Alternatively, you can rely on the integrated sensors of the treadmill to adjust the speed of your training session automatically. This is how the sensors work: To start we just have to start in the middle (constant speed) Run closer to the front of the platform to increase the speed Get closer in the end to decrease the speed In automatic mode, you can also turn on the walking platform by stepping on it and turn off the platform by simply getting down from the board. If you choose to exercise in automatic mode, you will not need the remote control at all, but the company insists that you continue to use the remote control or have it nearby for security reasons. That being said, the C1 in addition to the aforementioned feature can also verify the statistics using its remote controller. Some people might like it and some don’t. It is difficult to keep watching the stats on your remote control while walking, while it’s much easier to see it on the board. All Xiaomi WalkingPad treadmills have the same features and functions. However, since the speed of R1 is much greater than the two other models, it also has the running mode. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 App & Connectivity Comparison Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 uses the Mijia App (Mi Home) to connect to the smartphone. The app is multilingual. It’s a good option if you are using other Mijia or Xiaomi smart home appliances. You can operate everything from here. In the case of C1, this uses the application developed by WalkingPad, exclusive to this machine. The WalkingPad application is only available in English and Chinese. I do read that there are users who have problems connecting the C1 with this app. The most common problem is that they change the default location from Chinese to their own location. On the other hand, the R1 does not work with any of these specialized applications but works through the KS Fit application, which is the best one with guides and an incredible UI. Though the rating is 1.9 only, and similar connectivity issues are reported by many users. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 App Price Comparison In this section, we will know the prices of these 3 machines, of which the R1 is the most expensive, which is around $600 to $670. The next one with a $160 difference we have the A1 with a price of $499.99, and as the cheapest walking machine, the C1 is crowned for only $318.99.See also7Total Ratingi7s TWS vs i7 TWS Comparison | How Close To OriginalGines·May 9, 2020 Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad C1 Here are the best price offered of each walking pad along with the buying link. Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad C1 Our verdict Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 (1 Points) | Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 (4 Points) | Xiaomi WalkingPad C1 (1 Points) Overall Winner: Xiaomi WalkingPad R1 Concluding this Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 vs R1 vs C1 comparison, all treadmills from Xiaomi are incredible. The choice of selecting one depends on your preference (weight limit, power, budget, features, app). If you are more towards the budget-side, Xiaomi WalkingPad C1 is suitable for you, just remember that the motor is the least powerful and the stats are on the remote controller. If you are concerned with buying the best Xiaomi treadmill, the R1 is the best choice with armrest (optional), most powerful motor, best durability, and a well-guided app. Xiaomi WalkingPad A1 stands in the middle of them, offering a good price and covering the downside of the C1 model. Though it does have the carbon motor which is concerning if you want long life from a treadmill. Maybe the Pro version is much better with the brushless motor.
